I am the oldest of 26 cousins. When it comes to gender, we girls out number the boys by a lot! Including my brother, there are five boys. Because of this, I have become an expert on Wedding and baby showers. At a past job and at events such as these, I am the game queen. I LOVE coming up with new and interesting games and it is a necessity when you have been involved in so many showers.
In the future I may post a few more ideas, but today am going to limit it to five. Really, I should write a book on showers. Some of these ideas may be things you have heard of but it's nice to have a quick reference.
This is a tricky one and better in smaller showers because it can take a while. In a bowl put about a cup and a half to two cups of uncooked rice and add a small package of safety pins. Blindfold your guest and see how many pins they can find in a minutes time. It is trickier than it sounds.
2. It's All White
You will need flour, sugar, salt, powdered milk, cornstarch, baking soda, powdered laundry soap, confectioners sugar, baby powder and Get eight to ten Ziploc baggies and mark them with numbers. Fill each bag with a different ingredient and let your guests guess what each item is without opening them. Get creative if you can think of anything else that would work. This would also be great with spices that are tan or brown in color.
3. Baby or Love songs/movies
Give your guests a time limit to come up with as many song titles or movies that include love or baby in the title.
4. Bride Bingo or Baby Bingo
Make different bingo cards with terms that are related to your theme or even specific to the guest of honor. REMINDER: Do not use the same card for each guest otherwise everyone with have the same bingo.
A quick note, great prizes for showers don't have to be dollar store finds, you can come up with other things that are not expensive. Here are a few options, lottery tickets, candy bars, a small plant, single serve bags of chips or if like me you are crafty, small items that you have made. If the shower is during the holidays, even small ornaments would be good.
