Cupcake Card

My niece's birthday is coming up so I had to make are card for the occasion.  The inspiration is some fabric that recently caught my eye at work.  It is a fun cupcake design and since this is a birthday card it seemed very appropriate.  Recently the store that I work in was remodeled and we got some new crafting items in.  We got these cute blank cards that are just not plain rectangles.  The one used for this card is a cool circular design.  There is also one with scalloped edge and another with the corners rounded off.  Eight for .99 which is a great deal and then my 25% discount on top of that.  Woo-hoo!  My current card supply has been running low so this is exciting for me.  It's the little things sometimes!  :)

Green Shell Card

HELLO!!!!  Six months down and six to go!  Whew...I cannot believe what I've accomplished.  Don't worry there are still plenty of ideas bouncing around in my brain.  This weekend I finally get to do a tiny bit of shopping for supplies.  Nothing too crazy just the basics.  I'll probably crank out ten things in two days! Here goes with the second half of my blogging journey.  This card is for my sister in laws birthday this week.  She is such a great person, my brother is lucky to have her.  She is another crafty person and we receive wonderful homemade gifts from her every Christmas.  Our family doesn't do anything for adult birthdays.  It's mostly cards and phone calls, but that's all you really need.  Love from your family is the best gift of all.  So, I am sending this card with my warmest wishes to a terrific lady.

Mondrian & Muffins

Yesterday it was Van Gogh, today Mondrian. Another thrift store find for just a few bucks. This box was screaming color block at me and what better artist to inspire that than Piet Mondrian. I painted the box dark blue and when it was dry, taped it to create varying rectangular shapes. What to do with it next? Birthday present for my sister in law! I baked some pumpkin muffins, not from scratch like I really prefer, but I did add in some pecans. Yummy, I love baked goods for gifts, especially when the weather starts to turn chilly. Happy Birthday Sis in law! Have a great day!
